The Cardiology Section of Baylor College of Medicine has a legacy of national and international recognition as leaders in research, education and clinical care in areas ranging from the prevention of heart disease to treatment of an array of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary artery disease, valvular disorders, cardiomyopathies and advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant.
Our outstanding faculty practice in world-renowned institutions such as Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, Texas Heart Institute, Texas Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub Hospital and Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center along with affiliated institutions in the Houston community. Members of our faculty are dedicated to innovative and integrative patient care in all patient care settings, which include both in and outpatients at our private and public hospitals.
We are committed to educating the next generation of cardiovascular researchers and clinicians and are also active in post-graduate education to ensure that the latest research developments are implemented in clinical practice. We have strong research programs in all areas of cardiovascular disease including partnerships with basic and clinical researchers throughout the Texas Medical Center, the United States and internationally to develop new approaches for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.
