Education is one of the key activities of the section. Clinical supervision of residents and students occurs at the primary primary clinical locations, including Baylor Clinic, Ben Taub Hospital, Harris Health Smith Clinic and Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Our faculty are leaders in undergraduate medical education whose roles include senior associate dean of Undergraduate Medical Education and course directors for major courses such as Patient, Physician and Society 3 (all MS2s), Evidence-Based Medicine (all MS2s), medicine core clerkship and APEX (capstone for all MS4s).

Residency Training

Content

Section members serve leadership roles in the residency program, including associate program director, director of the Ambulatory Clinic and director of Ambulatory Care rotation.

The section also participates in the federally funded Primary Care Research Fellowship.

Community Outreach and Education

Content

The Environmental Health Service has active professional education and community outreach programs. Section faculty are also actively involved in weight management and healthy eating initiatives.
