About Our Weekly Research Seminars
Join us for our weekly research seminar series! Held every Thursday from 4:00pm - 5:00pm CST, these sessions are hosted in a hybrid format, both on Zoom and in-person in Building 109, Room 208 at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC).
Our CTRID/MEDVAMC seminars are Continuing Medical Education (CME)-accredited, and provide a platform to promote interactions and collaboration among new and established investigators. Our audience members have a broad range of research expertise and range from trainees to world-renowned visiting professors. Moreover, the seminar also allows investigators to seek feedback on upcoming grant applications, manuscripts, etc.

10th Annual MEDVAMC Research Poster Session - October 10, 2024
Get ready to take a walk down memory lane as we revisit our favorite themes over the years for the 10th Annual MEDVAMC Poster Session happening on Thursday, October 10th from 2:00-4:30pm in Building 109!
We invite all VA Scientists (including trainees and project team members) to join us and submit posters for presentations at this exciting event. This occasion will offer our researchers a chance to meet and share the great science we are doing on and off-campus. We will have a poster competition, refreshments, and fun activities!

National MEDVAMC Research Week
“Building Community Through Research”
May 13 – 17, 2024
VA Research Week takes place every year to highlight our exceptional VA researchers and the incredible work they do at the MEDVAMC to improve the lives of Veterans. This year’s VA Research Week included the Veteran Research Recruitment Fair, in which Research Service Line lab groups could share their research in real time with Veterans. More than 300 Veterans attended and visited our study tables. Additionally, we held the Research Week Symposium, which included a plenary and poster session aimed at highlighting the importance of VA and BCM research partnerships. Dr. Paul Klotman, President, CEO, and Dean of BCM, as well as Dr. Carolyn Clancy, VA Secretary for Health, spoke at this event, which saw over 130 attendees and 53 presenters!
