Thank you for your interest in the Center for Translational Research on Inflammatory Diseases. Our center was established in 2013 as part of a Research Strategic Planning Initiative at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) to foster collaborative research and mentoring at MEDVAMC by Baylor College of Medicine investigators. CTRID consists of a biomedical laboratory and clinical research faculty and trainees pursuing a variety of scientific interests related to inflammation, which contributes to a broad range of diseases affecting veterans and the population at large.
CTRID represents a unique collaborative initiative with its activities supported by the Houston VA Research & Education Foundation, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Baylor College of Medicine. The alignment between these entities enables CTRID to fulfill its vision of integrating the basic science research environment at MEDVAMC into a center of excellence for translational research and mentoring in cooperation with its affiliate, Baylor College of Medicine.
I invite you to browse through our website and learn about our investigators and ongoing research and if available, to attend our weekly scientific seminars on Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Rolando E. Rumbaut, M.D., Ph.D.
