The goal of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Practice and Implementation Center - South is to train medical and behavioral health professionals in the prevention, recognition, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. We offer online training through a CDC-sponsored website. In addition, we offer in-person training both at our campus in Houston and in your practice.
Our services include:
- FASD training for medical professionals/students
- FASD training for behavioral health professionals/students
- Annual FASD/alcohol screening Champions’ Training/Training of Trainers
- Technical assistance and support for collaborators and champions
- Website containing FASD information and links for medical professionals and the general public
- Assistance in the referral and connection to interested parties for on-site training through FASD Southeast faculty or speaker’s bureau (designated speaker)
- Participation in and hosting of local, state, and regional public efforts and events to disseminate FASD information and increase awareness
