Continuing Medical Education/Book Allowance

In addition to vacation, second- and third-year residents in good standing are given the choice of five days (including travel time) and up to $500 to attend the conference of their choice or a book allowance of up to $250.

Meals are provided to residents at Ben Taub Hospital free of charge when on service and on call.

Professional Organizations

Our residency program covers registration for professional organizations such as Harris County Medical Society, Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Laundry Service

Content

Lab coats are purchased for each resident (two in the first year and one in each of the next two years). Fresh scrubs are provided to all residents for hospital use (after a deposit).
