How to Apply
Currently, Medical Biochemical Genetics does not use the NRMP for those applying for the fellowship. Most individuals apply to the program 12-18 months before the anticipated start date. Interviews are granted based upon review of the application package and there is no set time frame for interviews.
Fellowship candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Medical Genetics or have completed a Medical Genetics combined residency program recognized by the ABMGG to be eligible for the fellowship. In addition, it is required that applicants are able to successfully obtain a physician licensure from the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Fellows may need to apply for a physician-in-training permit if they are not eligible for physician licensure by the commencement of training. This program does not participate in the NRMP.
