Texas Medical Center Police

The Texas Medical Center Police and Security Department assists in the protection of life and preservation of property to ensure the safety of the Texas Medical Center employees and visitors.

Emergency Notification System

Baylor College of Medicine has implemented an emergency notification system to alert students, trainees, faculty and staff of a crisis or catastrophic event. To receive phone, e-mail and text messaging notifications, you must first log into ENS using your Baylor ECA username and password. Emergency Management Guide and Plan

All Baylor students, trainees, faculty and staff are encouraged to regularly review the Emergency Management Guide (Baylor login required). The purpose of this Guide is to assist you during emergencies such as fires, disasters, bomb threats or medical emergencies. From the Guide, members of the Baylor community may also access the Baylor College of Medicine Emergency/Disaster Management Plan. (Baylor login required)

Baylor College of Medicine is committed to providing its students, trainees, faculty, staff and guests with a safe environment and encourages concerns about safety in the workplace to be reported without fear of retaliation. The program areas that comprise the Office of Environmental Safety include:

  • Biological Safety Program (BSCs, IBC, IATA/Shipping, Select Agents, Bio Waste)
  • Chemical Safety Program (Chemicals, Chemical Waste, Safety Facts)
  • General Lab Safety (Lab Moves, Close-Outs, DOD/USAMRMC compliance)
  • Safety Compliance and Training Program (Training, Surveys, Lab Assistance)
  • Occupational Safety Program (Respirator Fit-Testing, Air Quality, Visitors/Minors)
  • Radiation Safety Program (Radiation/X-Ray Licenses and Compliance Certificates, Lasers)
  • Emergency and Disaster Response (Departmental and BCM Emergency Plans)
