Sara Carranco, M.D.

Item Definition

University of Miami

Dr. Carranco was born in Naples, Fla. but grew up both in the United States and Medellín, Colombia. She returned to Florida to obtain her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida. She then traveled back south to sunny Miami, Fla. where she graduated with her medical degree with research distinction at the University of Miami. There, she developed her interest in OB/GYN with research in social determinants of health in relation to GYN oncology and OB trauma. When Dr. Carranco isn’t exploring the city with her dog Maya, she enjoys discovering new foods and spending time with her loved ones. Her clinical interests include gynecology oncology, minimally invasive surgery, critical care, minority health, and health equity. She hopes to use her passion for women’s health, language, and culture to proudly serve the women of Houston.

Kelsey

Kelsey Cramer, M.D.

Louisiana State University 

Dr. Cramer is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio but most recently calls New Orleans, La. home. She graduated from Tulane University with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in economics before attending Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. While in medical school, she worked on capitol hill in Washington, D.C. as a health policy fellow for the Congressional Research Service, beginning her lifelong passion for working at the intersection of women's health and policy. She has a passion for teaching and hopes to spend her career in academics. When not at the hospital, Dr. Cramer can be found playing with her two rescue cats, reading, cooking or exploring Houston's wine and food culture.

Simon Dadoun, M.D.

Dr. Dadoun was born in Montreal, Canada, and grew up in the Jersey Shore. He studied in rabbinical school in Philadelphia and Israel, before beginning his undergraduate studies at Lander College in Flushing, N.Y. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the sunny University of Miami. While there, he cultivated passions for student/patient education and women’s health. Dr. Dadoun enjoys the diverse clinical and surgical experiences OB/GYN has to offer and has a particular interest in high-risk obstetrics and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Outside of work he enjoys the outdoors, scuba diving, talking all things horology, studying Talmud, and spending quality time with his wife.

Nadia Fayoumi, M.D.

Dr. Fayoumi was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa where she studied human physiology with a minor in Arabic. She went on to receive her medical education at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. While in medical school, she was selected for the Innovation in Rural and Global Medicine (IRGmed) special curricular program where she was able to pursue her passion for serving global, underserved populations. In her free time, she loves exploring local farmers’ markets, playing competitive soccer, experimenting with fitness classes, cooking new recipes, traveling the world, and escaping with a good book.

Lauren Gray, M.D.

Dr. Gray is a lifelong Texas resident. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, and received her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine. She is thrilled to be staying at BCM for residency and to continue serving women of the Houston area. Her research passions include maternal mental health and functional recovery for patients receiving gynecological oncology treatment. In her free time, she enjoys soaking up some vitamin D while immersing herself in her garden with her two chihuahua babies. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and exploring the great outdoors while backpacking with her fiancé.

Joe Jackson, M.D.

Born in New Jersey and raised across the United States, Dr. Jackson is an Air Force brat who is elated to be staying in his adoptive hometown of Houston for residency training. After completing an undergraduate degree in history, he came to Houston for medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. While there he also earned a Diploma of Tropical Medicine from Baylor’s National School of Tropical Medicine. His clinical interests range from high-risk obstetrics to gynecologic oncology, with a special interest in tropical infectious diseases. Outside of the hospital, he is an amateur triathlete who loves brewing his own coffee at home.

Andrea Lugo Morales, M.D.

Dr. Lugo Morales was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She received her undergraduate degree in nutritional sciences with a minor in biology from the University of Houston. She then stayed in Houston and earned her medical degree at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School. Throughout her education, she occupied multiple leadership positions serving the Latino community and developed a passion for patient advocacy and access to care. Her clinical interests include high-risk obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and playing with her dog.

Chandler

Chandler McGee, M.D.

University of North Carolina

Dr. McGee is a proud Texas native and was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. for her undergraduate education and spent a year between college and medical school as an EPIC analyst in Round Rock, Texas with Baylor Scott and White Health. She completed her medical studies at the University of North Carolina - "Go ‘Heels!" Dr. McGee is humbled and grateful to start her career in obstetrics and gynecology with the BCM family. She is excited to serve the community of Houston and the chance to care for women under the tutelage of world-renowned physicians and leaders in the field. At this time she is interested in a career as an academic generalist or a specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She enjoys spending time with her family, brunching and watching crime documentaries.

Dr. McOsker was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nev. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno for her undergraduate education, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She stayed in Reno to earn her M.D. at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include women’s health advocacy, family planning, and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, scrapbooking and listening to true crime podcasts.

Matthew Mitts, D.O.

University of North Texas 

Dr. Mitts is a native Texan who is happy to be back in Houston. He traveled to San Antonio for his undergraduate education, obtaining his degree in biology from Trinity University. He went on to receive his medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he realized his passion for women’s health and patient advocacy. He hopes to combine this passion with his desire to effect change through preventative medicine and education. He also enjoys painting, exploring new restaurants, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, working out, and traveling.

Dr. O’Donnell was born and raised in Indianapolis, Ind. She received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience with minors in Spanish, chemistry, and psychology from Indiana University. She attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. She has interests in general Ob/Gyn and high-risk obstetrics. Her research has focused on opioid use in pregnancy, exercise in pregnancy, and more. When not at work, Dr. O’Donnell enjoys running and being active, trying new restaurants, playing violin, and spending time with friends and family.

Candice Thompson, D.O.

Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Thompson grew up in Baytown, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University before matriculating at Edward Via College of Medicine in South Carolina. She is looking forward to returning to Texas and great TexMex. She spends her spare time reading, watching her nephews, traveling, and lifting weights. A fun fact about Dr. Thompson is she once was chased by a lion while volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation center. A passion of Dr. Thompson's is strategies that increase health equity; and she is excited to join the Baylor College of Medicine family.
