Understanding Laboratory Results

Content

As part of your care at the Breast Care Center, blood tests are drawn on a regular basis. The frequency of blood tests depends on your treatment program.

Common blood tests for all patients include the complete blood count (CBC), and the comprehensive metabolic panel. Normal results for the CBC are listed below. The comprehensive metabolic panel screens body functions such as electrolytes, kidney function, liver function, and additional tests of nutritional balance. If there are any significant abnormalities in these tests you will be notified. Additional blood tests that may be indicated in your individual case will be explained to you.
