ACGME data demonstrates a need to improve verification and transparency of procedural competence in the supervision process. To improve our adherence to these goals, we will:

  • Add placard to current badges to include information regarding faculty/trainee designation;
  • Assist programs to develop a standardized document, which describes the required encounters, skills, and procedures required to achieve progressive autonomy in supervision for the clinical specialty;
  • Log and track trainee procedural competence in a centralized system, which is accessible to faculty, housestaff and other clinical/interprofessional staff.
