Since the majority of Baylor College of Medicine's training grants are from the National Institute of Health (NIH), the training grant tables are populated in this format.
What Information Does OTGF Need to Help Prepare Data Tables?
To further assist you in the preparation of your data tables, OTGF will need to know the following:
- Application type: New or Non-Competitive (RPPR)
- Type of Trainees: Predoctoral, Research Postdocs and/or Clinical Postdocs
- Historical list of trainees appointed to the the training grant (if applicable)
- List of your BCM participating faculty
- List of any departments or interdepartmental programs you wish to include/exclude
- Inclusion/Exclusion of 2nd choice Graduate Programs for Table 6A
What NIH Data Tables Can OTGF Provide?
Table 1 Part I and Part II: OTGF is able to provide current census data for all GSBS predoctoral student and GSBS postdoctoral trainees by department or by program.
Table 2: You will be provided with a complete list of your Baylor participating faculty, their degree, rank, primary department/program, number of past and current Baylor GSBS trainees. For participating faculty outside of BCM, OTGF will add the name of the individual(s) to the data table as a place holder for the department(s) to work with the corresponding institution(s) to incorporate the information.
Table 3: This table is generated based off of the institutional training grants currently funded in BRAIN. The information provided from this table will include the grant title, grant award number, start/end date, role (PD/PI), number of predoctoral or postdoctoral trainee positions, as well as any overlapping training faculty.
Table 4: The table provided will include all current research support that has been funded in BRAIN for each participating faculty member here at Baylor.
Table 5A and 5B: For new and competitive renewal applications, the system will generate the publications for past and current GSBS trainees based off of the participating faculty. For more information regarding the system capabilities for this section, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions.
Table 6A/B Part I and Part II: The table provided will include complete GSBS applicants, entrants and their characteristics for the past five years as required by the NIH Data Tables. For more information regarding the system limitations for this section, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions.
Table 8A/C Part I and Part II: For a non-competitive renewal application, a list of the trainees who have been appointed to the grant will need to be provided. With this information, OTGF will be able to provide you with the source of support for each trainee for Part I as well as the source of support for all GSBS trainees clearly associated to the training grant (Part II). For trainees paid from multiple sources, the source of the greatest source of support in the year will be reported. OTGF will also provide you with available historical information currently available in the training grant database. For more information regarding system capabilities for this section, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions.
Table 8A/C Part III: For new applications (or postdoctoral renewal/revision applications requesting an expansion to predoctoral support), the system will generate a list of GSBS trainees for the past 15 years as required by the NIH Data Tables. For more information regarding the system capabilities for this section, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions.
