The Section of Transition Medicine provides an outpatient elective rotation for medical students and residents at Baylor College of Medicine, McNair campus. In addition we are pleased to announce its first fellowship in Developmental Medicine.

Transition Medicine partners with several academic institutions to provide internship opportunities for social work students, a learning rotation for nursing students, and a selective research opportunity for medical and dental students.

The Section of Transition Medicine collaborates with community organizations with whom young adults with developmental disabilities might interact. Their efforts reduce barriers adult patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may experience. The section also holds regular outreach events such as Pathways to Adulthood seminars, which help families and professionals better plan for a young adult’s life after high school.
