First STEPS - Type 1 Diabetes (H-36925 )

Study Goal(s): This randomized control trial is testing a stepped care behavioral intervention for parents of young children who are newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Child age 1-6 newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and parent. 
2. Parent age at least 21 years 
3. Parent must be able to adequately understand, speak and read English.
